A common use in Microsoft Excel is to have the ability to count the cells which containt values or text. For this this task we can employ the COUNTA formula. Below we have a briefly listing of produce related items.

1. In a worksheet cell type in = CountA( A2:A10)

a. The range entered should be the area you wish to count

Notice that the formula does not count the number of cells but the cells that contain some type of entry be it alpha or numeric.
